Join the Distributed Acoustic Sensing: Principles and Case Studies (WS29) Workshop at AGU’s FAll Meeting in Washington D.C. on 9 December 2018 to learn about the use of DAS (distributed acoustic sensing) for novel geophysical or industrial applications.
Distributed acoustic sensing provides a flexible and large sensing aperture for acquiring high resolution acoustic data in time and space. The workshop will provide an overview of DAS technology and its principles, followed by case studies that will feature applications such as Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP), near-surface and passive seismic (seismicity) monitoring, CO2 sequestration and geothermal reservoir characterization.
Silixa’s presentations will present the latest developments in distributed acoustic sensing through a number of case studies, each addressing specific DAS applications.
The workshop will close with an open discussion of the future of DAS for the AGU community.
