Join us for our presentation at ATCE 2019 in Calgary, Canada where Garth Naldrett, Silixa’s Chief Products Officer, will present on “Cluster Flow Identification During Multi-rate Flow Testing Using a Wireline Tractor Conveyed Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing System with Engineered Fiber on a HPHT Horizontal Unconventional Gas Producer in the Liard Basin” on 30 September 2019 at 14.00 pm.

Garth’s presentation will focus on Silixa’s engineered Carina® Sensing System and its exceptional performance that enables production monitoring in horizontal wells where the thermal and acoustic flow signatures are very small.

He will present the results of a field survey in the Liard Basin, where the flow performance of a horizontal unconventional gas producer was investigated when cluster flow has been detected and quantified. The method employed is the first use of a wireline deployed engineered fiberoptic Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system for the purpose of production monitoring.

The results of this survey yielded remarkable insights that informed the operator on the completion efficiency and the relationship between the total production rate and cluster activity.

Silixa would like to thank Chevron ETC for their assistance in the Carina® technology development and Chevron Canada for their participation in the field deployment.
