Craig Milne, Silixa’s Vice President Oil & Gas, will present on Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) providing an in-well measurement strategy at the 4th Annual Shale World UK in London, on 18 May, 2016 at 15.00 pm.

Silixa’s distributed fibre optic sensing technology can significantly improve the safety and efficiency of shale gas operations by providing a permanent monitoring tool to evaluate the effectiveness of stimulation and subsequently the zone-by-zone production over the life of the well.

Craig’s presentation will primarily focus on real-time acoustic monitoring of proppant placement to understand stage efficiency, early warnings of screen-outs and evaluation of diverter efficiency. He will also demonstrate how microseismic event detection within the treated or adjacent well can determine frack positions and heights.
