Silixa to present Fiber Optic Sensing Workshop at SPE International Conference

Silixa to present at the SPE Workshop for Fiber-Optic Sensing Applications for Well, Reservoir and Asset Management on 30–31 July 2024 in Galveston, TX

Join us at the SPE Workshop for Fiber-Optic Sensing Applications for Well, Reservoir and Asset Management on 30–31 July 2024 in Galveston, TX, USA.

The upstream energy industry is at an exciting stage in the use of optical sensing to measure, understand and optimize asset performance. The workshop will highlight the application of  distributed sensing-based technologies in unconventional and conventional oil and gas as well as in the field of low-carbon energy development.

Robert Greenaway, Silixa’s Product Manager – Permanent Reservoir Monitoring, will be presenting on Novel optical fiber pumping deployment solutions and their evolution — alternatives to prepacked cables and the influence on completion design and distributed measurement performance in Session 7 (Distributed Fiber Optic (DFO) Sensing Applications, Deployment Methods and Technology Advancements — Onshore and Offshore) on 31 July 2024 at 12.45 pm.

His presentation will discuss the evolution of pumped optical fiber technology and the influence on both the completion design and distributed measurement performance characteristics that can be achieved today with different optical fibers.

Our second presentation, titled Case Studies of Distributed Sensing Applied to CCUS and Geothermal Sites, will be delivered by Thomas Coleman, Silixa’s General Manager E&I North America, in Session 4 (Lower Carbon Applications (CCUS and Geothermal)) on 30 July 2024 at 15.00 pm.
