Webinars and presentations

28 April 2021

Our joint webinar with Curtin University presents a live distributed acoustic sensing-based vertical seismic profiling (VSP) acquisition. On-demand VSP data collection is performed at Curtin University’s state-of-the-art geophysics test facility in Perth, Australia by remote operation from the UK with data QC’d during the webinar.

This presentation will give you an overview of how Silixa’s DAS-based flow profiling solution can directly monitor flow. In its basic form, it is a useful dynamic flow assurance tool, but with further processing of the data it gets closer to a quantitative metering tool. Ongoing development has the goal to make it a rapidly deployable, retrofittable and intrinsically safe metering solution that can be daisy-chained across multiple flow zones over an extended range.

Icequakes offer critical insights into the dynamics of ice sheets. In January 2020, for the first time in the Antarctic, Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), as a new approach to monitoring basal icequakes, was used. This presentation will give you an overview of the key findings.

This presentation, originally presented at SEG 2020 by Robert Hull, discusses a case study where fiber optic DAS and DTS data was used for hydraulic fracture characterization in a 6‑wellpad. Distributed temperature and acoustic measurements were taken on both permanently and temporarily installed fibres. Link to the original publication here.

Well surveillance and monitoring using Silixa’s market leading DAS and DTS, 23 June 2020

This webinar is to give you an overview of Silixa’s cutting edge DAS and DTS technologies, demonstrating through applications and case studies how these real-time distributed data translate as actionable information to increase efficiency and reduce wellsite downtime.

Wireline deployed fibre optic sensing frac monitoring solution, 17 June 2020

Carina® XwellXpress, crosswell low frequency strain and microseismic monitoring service, has been utilized in multiple unconventional plays and has demonstrated clear value leading to increased efficiency and reduced operational costs. This webinar will give you an overview of this revolutionary technology.
