Silixa provides fibre optic cables specifically tailored to the requirements of Distributed Fibre Optic Sensing, allowing the user to achieve the optimum performance for their application. We possess a wealth of knowledge in the design and construction of fibre optic cables based on the expertise and accumulated experience of our technical team.

We maintain excellent relationships with many fibre and cable manufacturers and have a proven ability to draw on technical expertise from across the industry to develop ground-breaking fibre optic cables.

Each cable is specially selected to match the measurement and deployment needs of the application, such as temperature, strain, or acoustics. Cables can be manufactured to withstand the harshest of environments, including high temperatures and the presence of hydrogen. Cables typically contain multiple fibres which can be any combination of Constellation™, singlemode and multimode. Copper wires can also be included to provide power and communication to electrical devices, or to heat the cable when used with Silixa’s Heat Pulse System. This allows multiple measurements to be made from a single cable.

Silixa’s proprietary engineered fibre, Constellation, can be incorporated into any cable design for enhanced measurement performance, with the specific Constellation design chosen to achieve the best signal quality over the target range.
