Silixa Selected for 2026–27 Hawaiʻi Wave Dual-Use Incubation Program

Silixa LLC, part of Luna Innovations, has been selected to participate in the 2026–27 Hawaiʻi Wave Dual-Use Incubation Program, operated by the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research (PICHTR).

The program supports companies developing technologies with potential applications across commercial, government, and national-security markets. PICHTR selected Silixa based on the dual-use potential of its Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) technology, which turns optical fiber into distributed acoustic, temperature, and strain sensing arrays.

Silixa’s technology supports applications in subsea surveillance, underwater monitoring, infrastructure resilience, and the protection of critical undersea assets. Through its Hawaiʻi-based defense business development presence and regional work with government and commercial stakeholders, Silixa is positioned to strengthen opportunities across Hawaiʻi and the broader Indo-Pacific region.

Participation in Hawaiʻi Wave will provide Silixa with regional mentorship, market intelligence, customer-discovery support, and curated introductions that may help strengthen partnerships and identify future commercial or government opportunities.

PICHTR is a Honolulu-based nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of experience supporting technology development, commercialization, and public-private partnerships across Hawaiʻi and the Indo-Pacific region.
