Silixa to present on Fibre Optic Acoustic Sensing in Wells at the Non-seismic Geophysical Technologies and Non-Conventional Seismic Conference in London on 11 October, 2017

Garth Naldrett, Silixa’s Chief Product Officer, will be presenting on Fibre Optic Acoustic Sensing in Wells at the Non-seismic Geophysical Technologies and Non-Conventional Seismic Conference in London on 11 October, 2017.

Following several years of comparison around the globe, many geophysicists now accept that the quality of seismic data recorded on optical fibres is equivalent to that of geophones. Over the past three years, DAS surveys have been run on many non-conventional applications, such as carbon sequestration projects, surface buried fibres, inter-well pressure connectivity, mines, dams and ice formation.

Garth’s presentation will describe the impact of fibre technology on conventional seismic, then give three case studies to demonstrate the advantages of fibre optic acoustic sensing in sequestration, microseismic and hydraulic projects.
