SPE WORKSHOP: Subsea Fiber-Optic Sensing Applications: How To Make It Happen

Silixa presenting at the SPE Workshop: ‘Subsea Fiber-Optic Sensing Applications: How To Make It Happen’ on 10–12 April 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Permanently installed fiber optic sensing solutions have been providing data in various subsea applications, such as vertical seismic profiling, flow profiling, well integrity monitoring, reservoir characterization and production optimization, to support decision making of reservoir management through the life-of-the-field for many years.

Undoubtedly, distributed sensing has a huge potential. However, before scaling up the technology adoption, there are challenges that need to be addressed: the high amount of data to be analysed and transferred, the introduction of new interpretation algorythms, and well designs considering fiber optics.

Attend the workshop to gain valuable insight trough case studies and field trials into where distributed sensing is at, exchange experiences, and discuss the next steps.

Garth Naldrett, Silixa’s Chief Product Officer, is on the workshop committee and will be presenting on our subsea and flow profiling solutions. We would be happy to share how we have made subsea fiber optic installations happen.
